U-Pak is looking for someone who is dedicated, trustworthy and willing to learn. When it comes to the Waste industry, THERE?S ALWAYS GARBAGE and there will always be work, hence we have the ability to offer overtime pay. Times have changed, dealerships can be monotonous whereas UPak has a wide range of equipment to learn on and make the days go by feeling like you have learned and accomplished something. We mostly run Freightliners and Mack's along with various yellow iron including CAT 950m loaders, excavators, backhoes and multiple forklifts. We are constantly expanding our fleet within our forward thinking company. For candidates that show dedication and eagerness to learn, U-Pak will help them continue to obtain your certificate through schooling and sponsorship. *Responsibilities* · Work with a fleet of over 150 vehicles and equipment including trucks, loaders, forklift, etc. · Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade · Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity · Maintain current PM?s and schedule future maintenance sessions · Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks) · Keep logs on work and issues using RTA and computer software · Maintain company owned equipment and keep tools in neat and proper condition · Assist in conducting pre and post vehicle inspections of equipment · Reporting any safety or repair issues to the shop supervisor · Follow and maintain all safety measures to according to U-Pak company policy and procedures · Courteous interaction with fellow employees and supervisors. · Performs other job-related duties as assigned. *Qualifications* · Experience as heavy equipment mechanic · Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles · Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods · High school diploma is preferred · Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is required Ready to turn your skills into a force for environmental change?
