We support over 1000 users across the Finance teams in the bank.The Role This role would support the regulatory reporting automation and other initiatives that support the Finance and risk users. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders including business partners in Global Finance and risk, business analyst, architecture, and infrastructure and support to understand business requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions that best support the business need.Some of the key accountabilities include:Gather requirements, design and build new featuresCollaborate with the product owner, project manager and other relevant teamsEnsure best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of the applicationsIdentify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problemsExcellent understanding of developer life cycle and enterprise developer toolsWhat You Will Bring to Succeed skills/experience required for the incumbent to succeed.Proficient in developing strategies for Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) mechanism involving IBM DataStage (On cloud).Expert in designing Parallel jobs using various stages like Join, Merge, Lookup, Remove duplicates, Filter, Dataset, Lookup file set, Complex flat file, Modify, Aggregator, XML.Expert in designing Server jobs using various types of stages like Sequential file, ODBC, Hashed file, Aggregator, Transformer, Sort, Link Partitioner and Link Collector.Experienced in integration of various data sources (DB2-UDB, SQL Server, PL/SQL, Oracle, Teradata, XML and MS-Access) into data staging area.Expert in working with Data Stage Manager, Designer, Administrator, and Director.Experience in analyzing the data generated by the business process, defining the granularity, source to target mapping of the data elements, creating Indexes and Aggregate tables for the data warehouse design and development.Excellent knowledge of studying the data dependencies using metadata stored in the repository and prepared batches for the existing sessions to facilitate scheduling of multiple sessions.Proven track record in troubleshooting of Data Stage jobs and addressing production issues like performance tuning and enhancement.Experienced in Database programming for Data Warehouses (Schemas), proficient in dimensional modelingExpertise in UNIX shell scripts using K-shell for the automation of processes and scheduling the Data Stage jobs using wrappers.Experience in using software configuration management tools like Rational Clear case/Clear quest for version control.Experienced in Data Modeling as well as reverse engineering using tools Erwin, Oracle Designer and MS Visio, SQL server management studio, SSIS and SSRS and store procedure.Knowledge of OFSAA would be an added advantage.DataStage would be on cloud, so cloud experience would be an added advantage.The Workplace We are technology partners who help the business transform how our employees around the world workWe have an inclusive and collaborative working environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and celebrates success!You'll get to work with and learn from diverse industry leaders, who have hailed from top technology companies around the worldWe foster an environment of innovation and continuous learningWe care about our people, allowing them to design how they work to deliver amazing resultsWe offer a competitive total rewards package, including a performance bonus, company matching programs (on pension & profit sharing), and generous vacationLocation(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
